1Y Readers are able to remember a pattern in a Yellow book. They can use the pattern and pictures to read the rest of the book.
2Y Readers are able to point at each word as the read as well as the above skill. They are able to use the spaces to separate words. They also correct themselves if the number of words they say don’t match the number of words on the page.
3Y Readers are able to do all of the above skills and make the first sound for each new word on a page, look at the picture, and say something that fits both the first sound and the picture.
