Elementary Teacher - 1st Grade
I went to Ouachita High and transferred to River Oaks when my father retired from coaching at NLU and began coaching there.I graduated in 1997. I graduated from ULM with a degree in Marketing in May2000. I decided to leave the business world and become a teacher after helpling my sister learn to read and write again after a massive stroke at 45. I enrolled in school in January 2018 after passing the teacher certification tests. The experience of my sister’s stroke left me with a desire to leave the business world and enter into a field where I felt I was making a difference. I will graduate with a Masters in Eductation May 2020.

I have been married to Coach Goeffrey Underwood for 20 years. We have three children Grace, 19 – college junior Math education major at NSU; Emma, 17- high school senior who plans to attend Southeastern Louisiana University to major in Nursing, and Roger-13 7th grade high functioning Autistic son who loves to fish and read. We all love basketball. We have two large rescue dogs – Buddy a 115 lb bull mastiff who thinks he is a lap dog and Rex a 90 lb very loving pitt bull black lab mix. Fun Fact about me is my mom was once principal of Shady Grove – Cathy Stockton- so I grew up here.
